Used Crankshafts
The crankshaft is the main rotating shaft running the length of the engine. The crankshaft is supported by bearings at either end of the engine block. Sections of the shaft are offset to form throws. Connecting rods that are attached to the pistons are also attached to the throws. As the pistons move up and down, the connecting rods cause the crankshaft to rotate. In turn, the rotating crankshaft causes the transmission gears to rotate and, ultimately, the wheels to rotate.
